Our Story
The Ellis Family Reunion was started in 1956, when the patriarch John B. Ellis, who later changed him name to Jack, and affectionately called “Daddy Jack” returned to Georgia from St. Louis, Missouri.
Upon Daddy Jack’s return to Georgia, he got with Mr. Doc Barkley to find his son “Mack”.
When Daddy Jack and Mr. Doc Barkley went to Mack’s house, he was in the field plowing. Eloise, Mack’s wife, stated there would be a Family Reunion so Daddy Jack could see his Grandchildren.
And that’s how the Ellis Family Reunion began!
